I’m pretty sure the original image is ironic, but I almost can’t muster a chuckle because this is a good summary of the actual argument made by the creators of the game this is referring to. The argument in question is literally the dumbest shit I have ever seen in my goddamn life. Anyone who believes this kind of message in earnest is lower in my estimation than a person who openly discriminates on a regular basis… not only are you being just as discriminatory, but you’re acting like you’re doing the world a favor while you do it. Remember that one time MLK Jr told everyone to go hate on white people because that was going to solve all the problems? yeah me neither.

The blog/ game this is referring to makes me want to hurl. Message? Great. Super great, no lie. Execution? Shit. You’re poisoning a potentially ground breaking concept by making it intentionally exclusionary. What lesson is being taught here? Making a game about love centered around one group of people, fueled by spite and hatred towards another group of people, is about as self-defeating as it gets. I’m not telling anyone not to do what their heart desires, I’m just saying that if you held a self-respecting mirror up to this game it would shatter out of shame.

I’m so sick of folks acting like they’re the best most fucking special shining star ever because they are different and have suffered for it. I don’t want to hear your tragedy story, you don’t need to hear mine, all I need to know is that you’re human like me. I haven’t met one person in my entire life who hasn’t struggled with something. Everyone is so busy trying to define themselves by their tragedies that they forget that we are more similar than we will ever be different in the larger scheme of things. We will all hurt, the vast majority of us will make it, we will use our experiences to make the world a better place. Avoid shit that you disagree with, make things that carry the message you find valuable, don’t ever intentionally belittle someone for something that they have no control over (sexual orientation, race, gender). Nobody has to be a demographic, each of us is an individual. Anything, including media and entertainment, that forces you to define yourself by your differences is poison.

Holy jeez maybe before you go on a potentially damaging ragefest about how backwards racist these developers are you should probably read their faq. They are focusing on marginalized people, as in POC and LGBT, not being anti-white. And frankly, even if this game WAS all about POC and LGBT, heaven forbid they’re trying to appeal to a new market. Isn’t there a million games out there already that are catered to white cis players?
